Board Members

Bruce Padula (President)

Term Expires December 2017

Administration

My family and I moved to Fair Haven after several years in Hoboken and immediately fell in love with this community. I have always believed in community service and decided to run for the Board of Education after attending several Board meetings in 2014. As a practicing attorney representing several school boards in this state and lecturer on school issues at St. Peter’s University, my professional experience provides a unique and important point of view for the Board. Indeed, I hope this perspective can aid our schools to become the best they can be.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve my neighbors and this community I love. I am humbled by the support and trust this community has placed in me and I look forward to working with the Board and Administration to reach our potential and to prepare our children for a lifetime of learning and success.

I have lived in Fair Haven for 25 years and am honored to serve on the Fair Haven Board of Education. I have 3 children, one at Sickles, two in Knollwood and my husband, Peter, attended both schools as a child. The mission of our District is one that I firmly believe in and I look forward to serving our children and the residents of our town. I hold a Masters degree in Education, have taught for over 18 years and have close to 25 years of community service in our county to draw from, including extensive work in our very own PTA. I hope to put this experience to good and effective use in the next three years - Together We Can Do More , and we will.

My family and I moved to Fair Haven from New York City in 2007. We moved to the suburbs because we wanted to provide our children with the best educational experiences in a public school setting, while having them grow up in a small town that valued community. We have three children, one at Sickles and two at Knollwood. My professional background as a Human Resources Generalist in Finance provides me with a unique skill set in employee relations, policy advisement and retention practices. I’m hoping to be able to utilize these skills to provide a sustainable, positive learning environment where every child is engaged and challenged to their greatest potential, while focusing on academic achievement for children on every level. I am very excited to be offered this opportunity to serve our community as a Board of Education member. I look forward to working closely with the Administrative team and community of Fair Haven.

My family and I moved to Fair Haven in 2005. We fell in love with the small town, close-knit community and excellent schools. We have three children currently in the school system, two in Knollwood and our youngest in Sickles. My experience as a teacher and professional development specialist has enabled me to stay current in research, standards and trends in education. I am passionate about education and a believer in providing the best instruction for our children: to meet the needs of every child; to encourage our students to excel to the best of their abilities; to provide the most effective tools for our teachers; and, to ensure constant and clear communication to the community. I feel so fortunate to be a member of the Board of Education and I am committed to working with the administration to provide the best education experience for all.

My husband and I moved to Fair Haven because of its small town feel and strong sense of community. Having both been products of New Jersey's public schools, we also wanted to raise our children in a strong school district. We have three boys; two attend Knollwood School and our youngest is still in preschool. I have been involved in our PTA, serving on various committees and as a class parent at both Sickles School and Knollwood School. Before taking time off to raise our children, I was a litigation attorney. I look forward to using my research and analytical skills, along with my negotiation and communication skills to further the mission of our Board and to help our children achieve academic success. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve our community on the Fair Haven Board of Education.

My husband and I have lived in Fair Haven for 8 years. We were drawn by the excellent educational opportunities and strong sense of community. We have three children who enjoy both Knollwood and Sickles School! Upon moving to Fair Haven, I became involved in our PTA and local schools and organizations. This involvement allowed me to become familiar with our administration, teachers and facilities. I have a Master’s degree in Business Administration and look forward to applying my skills toward achieving our educational goals. My focus is student achievement and academic excellence in the classroom, fiscal responsibility while budgeting to the needs of our children and improved communication and contribution between our parents, Administration and Board. I consider it a privilege to be a member of the Fair Haven Board of Education and to work for the betterment of the children of Fair Haven.

I moved to Fair Haven with my husband in 1998. Little did we know what we bought into when we moved here; we are so blessed to be a part of this great community. We have 5 children, three of whom are attending the FH school district--one in Sickles and two in Knollwood. The older two have graduated from this district and are now in high school. As a member of this community, I believe that we all have a responsibility to participate in it and to contribute to it. As such, I am grateful to be elected to the BOE. With my background as a parent, educator, and attorney, I can address issues from different points of view, which will serve to enhance decisions made by the Board. I am thankful to the community for their confidence in my abilities to be an effective Board member. I look forward to working with the Board and the school administration and staff to continue to mold our district for the benefit of our children's education.

As a longtime advocate for kids and education, I am honored to be one of your Board of Education members. A native Monmouth County resident, I jumped at the chance to move back to NJ in 2013 after many years in NYC. We love this town for many reasons, some of which are the great schools, the river access, our daily bike rides, and so many engaged and incredible neighbors. I run my own interior design business and volunteer with P.E.O., our church, and the PTA. I have two sons at Sickles and a third who attends a local pre-school. My husband, Matt, works as a Foundation Director for a local hospital system. I am unwavering in my belief that each and every child who walks through our buildings' door deserves a great education and that we have amazing teachers, access to incredible teaching models and tools, and richness of resources in Fair Haven to deliver and improve on that promise. Thank you for your trust and I am grateful for this opportunity to work hard and serve our kids and district.

My husband and I fell in love with Fair Haven in 2002. Our three children are all current students in the school system and we are very happy with the education that they are receiving. As an active volunteer in our schools and community, I love connecting with friends and neighbors and using my professional skills in finance, consulting and accounting to enrich these organizations. My family truly values everything about this wonderful community. I am so excited to be part of the Board and will work to ensure that our children have the best possible educational experience.
